Hawaii State Golf Association (HSGA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the integrity and traditions of the game of golf in Hawaii. HSGA is the official representative for the United States Golf Association (USGA) and exclusive provider of the GHIN service for golfers in Hawaii. The primary focus of the association is to provide a reliable and accurate handicapping system for every golfer in the state of Hawaii.
By joining the HSGA you are supporting many great things we do for the game of golf in Hawaii. Since 1984, we have been dedicated to preserving and protecting golf in Hawaii. The HSGA provides USGA handicap indexes through the Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN) service, Course & Slope Rating Services, Rules of Golf & Handicapping Seminars and Tournament Hosting and Procurement to its members and the golfing community of Hawaii. We also help to support many other golf associations and amateur & professional tournaments in Hawaii including events at the young junior ages, high school and college level. The HSGA is made up of three dedicated full time associates and 15 volunteer directors.
The HSGA annually conducts 11 main tournaments annually in Hawaii. These include the Hawaii State Amateur Stroke Play and Match Play Championships, two other Four Ball Championships (the HSGA Four-Ball stroke play & the Francis Hyde I'i Brown Four Ball match play) and the Mayor's Cup for HSGA members. We also help to conduct the Governor John A. Burns Challenge Cup, a challenge between the top 12 amateur golfers in the state versus the top 12 professional golfers in a Ryder Cup style format. Visit our HSGA Tournaments and our Governor's Cup Points page for more information.
We also host USGA Championship qualifying tournaments to send people to represent Hawaii at the USGA national events for the following: U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Amateur, USGA Senior Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur and the USGA Men's State Team Championship. Visit our USGA Qualifiers page for more information.
