The seminars that were being held on the islands of Maui, Big Island, and Oahu in February of 2009 has been canceled due to the low sign up. HSGA does have intentions on rescheduling but not at this time.
We want to thank you all that signed up, and USCG will be in contact with you regarding your refunds.
If you are a new club to HSGA and did not attend last years seminar you may still take the handicap seminar online thru the USGA. Log on to the link below and get the presentation and exam there.
You may log onto www.usga.org/playing/handicaps/handicaps.html , click on the Online Seminar.
Who should take the Handicapping Exam?
Any new HSGA club: A new club needs to have a licensed representative.
Anyone that has any questions regarding scoring, tournament scoring, handicap calculation, trends, etc.
USGA Handicap System Licensing Program for Clubs
The Licensing Program for Clubs is required for all clubs in the United States that wish to issue a USGA Handicap Index to its members. Part of the licensing process includes meeting the Club Compliance Checklist items, one item of which is attending a handicap seminar and successfully passing the quiz. Any club representative can complete this requirement on behalf of their golf club.
Golf clubs that are currently licensed will remain so until December 31, 2011, provided a representative of the club completes the seminar/quiz requirement during the 2008-2011 term.
